Last week I went to a restaurant called “Puku Puku Tei”
so I would like to introduce about it!
Puku Puku Tei is a restaurant in Yokohama, near hiyoshi
station. It’s very hard to say the genre of this restaurant in English but in
Japanese we call it “洋食屋”. It
means “western food restaurant” in Japanese. I think “洋食屋” was common when western food was still not familiar
in Japan. So many of the “洋食屋”
restaurant have long history and has kind of an special atmosphere that reminds
of Shouwa period.
Entrance of the restaurant.
This restaurant is open for either lunch which is from 11:30 until 15:00, or for Dinner from 17:00 to 21:00. This is for weekdays so it might be a bit different on weekends. I went with my mother just after it opened for lunch so there wasn't much people when we arrived. But it was filled with people by the time we finished eating, which was about 12:10.
Inside the restaurant. Its retro and I really love it.
We ordered Puku Puku tei original hamburg (170g) and crab cream crocket. Puku puku tei original hamburg is the No.1 menu and it was 995 yen. Crab cream crocket was also delicious and it cost the same as the hamburg. There are many other menu other than these including Omurice. For dishes like hamburg and crocket it comes with a rice.

It was my second tome visiting this restaurant but I liked it very much. The food was good and I liked the way this restaurant is used by wide generation, from small kids to elderly people. It has a 30 years of history so I think it is why there are many fans. I've looked through the internet but there wasn't other Puku Puku Tei like in Yokohama so I think it is not a chain restaurant. If I was to give a score it would be 95/100. The location of this restaurant is difficult to find but other than that I think it is perfect. I'd like to go there again!
